Getting help when and where you need it Being a young person can be pretty hard, no matter who you are. But some young people may experience issues and challenges that require help and support to enable them to reach their full potential. The Victorian Government is looking at ways that state and local government, schools and communities can best work together to make sure that these young people and their families get help when and where they need it.
This policy approach is called the Vulnerable Youth Framework and will focus on:
· ways to identify and prevent problems before they become bigger issues
· making sure youth services are locally planned and coordinated
· making sure schools and teachers are better able to support young people who
need help with education, training or employment opportunities
· tailoring assistance to help specific groups of young people
· having capable people who can provide the most effective services for vulnerable young people. Vulnerable Youth Framework Victorian Government is currently talking to different community groups - such as local councils, schools, parents and carers, youth services and youth organisations - to get their input into the policy framework.A discussion paper outlining the basis of the framework has been sent to all the key stakeholders and is also available on Department of Human Services' Children Youth and Families website.» Read the Vulnerable Youth Framework Discussion Paper (www.cyf.vic.gov.au/youth-services/vulnerable-youth-framework)You can also email
