Link2Learn
Would you like to develop your skills, experience and confidence to find the right job or career pathway, all while having access to a mentor specifically matched to support you?

Introduction
2020/2021 has presented challenges for us all, young people in particular have encountered many barriers. Tasked with navigating blended learning models, managing disruptions to their education, as well as the inability to connect with local Training providers and Industry the way they normally would.
With all this in mind, GMLLEN engaged the services of Lysa Johnstone Consulting, to research and scope the many benefits that mentoring programs have on young people. The findings from the research were unanimously positive for both young people and their mentors.
We have since presented our pilot mentor framework to local youth groups, the consultations provided young people with the opportunity for input and to provide feedback. We are now excited to announce we have our Link2Learn program ready for expressions of interest.
15 young people will have the opportunity to be matched with a mentor and enjoy the benefits of skill building workshops and connecting to industry via work placement, which will run over the duration of 2022.
We look forward to sharing the successes of this pilot program and hopefully, see it grow in the future.

It’s not all the school’s responsibility. We all need to come together as in schools, the community and family to provide positive mentors and create places outside of home and school to explore. Everyone has a part to play.
